Open house at No Minimalist Here

Beautiful  pair of mirrored  sconses from a Baptist church.

My favorite plate given to me by my Mother after a trip to Canada.  Purchased from an antique dealers private collection.
I believe some pleading was involved.
1940's Gibson archtop guitar with great sound.

Flow Blue sugar bowls and the view of Redwood and Eucalyptus trees from my kitchen window.
The Mermaid House is a little bit of heaven.

I love the complimentary colors of parrot feathers and Hopi pots

Hopi pots and parrot feathers.  Looks like a painting!

Just a simple display of squash and persimmons.

Pretty glass pumpkin and a ceramic pumpkin doing a very good imitation.

Victorian claw footed candlestick.  Used for very dark hallways.  I think I would have owned a pair like these.

Fall table.

The Rainbow Hour

My favorite painting by Peggy Kroll-Roberts.

More views of the garden!

The totem pole in the backyard.  I gave it to my son his birthday!

I call this the rainbow hour when the late afternoon sun hits all the crystals.   My favorite time of day!

My favorite color combination is red and green.

The courtyard at the Mermaid House.  Giant carved pillars and the foo dog standing guard.

The Mermaid House

The King Neptune Chair.

Carved Mermaids or Mermen?

Fabulous antique carved chest.

Late 18th century Napoleonic period carved blanket chest from Normandy, France.

Salvaged mermaid with giant clam shell.

Mermaid weathervane giving the house with a past a new persona.  Built in 1948, my house has a history of motorcycle gangs,  sex, drugs, rock 'n roll and life as a three story illegal apartment building.    Later, artists were in residence and there were art classes in the back yard.

Persimmons And Squash

Purple, orange, cadmium red, viridian green and violet blue are my colors for Fall.

Assorted squash.

Eccentric Victorian candle stick.

Fall colors!   A beautiful Uzbekistan antique textile, Hopi pot with green parrot feathers and vintage Blue Willow bowl.

When the persimmons get very soft and super sweet, I make persimmon brandy.  Ready in 6 months!  The brandy has a delicate flavor.

Persimmons from the garden.  We are raccoon free this year!

Obsessed With Murano Dolphin Art Glass

Antique Murano dolphin art glass.

The dolphin shapes are so pleasing.

Antique Murano candle holders.   Surviving intact is a miracle.  I always look for signs of glue!

Yellow Murano dolphin figurine and  green dolphin goblet.  I found the goblet in Rome.

Exquisite antique Murano dolphin art glass

Vintage Murano Italian Venetian Salviati Dolphin  Wine Goblet with yellow figurine.
